The Green Inferno Pulled From Open Road's Release Schedule

Eli Roth's homage to cannibal films, The Green Inferno, was supposed to be released to theaters. Because, what America needs is a cannibal horror film. Hmmm...

Anyway, the movie has been taken off of Open Road Film's release schedule. It appears that this is because of financier Worldview Entertainment's new management, which is looking at all of its deals. They were on the hook for the prints and advertising of the Roth film.

Actually, that;s too bad. This looks like it is going a pretty hard-R splatter flick. Roth's record is uneven, but I enjoyed the heck out of Cabin Fever. Hopefully, this will get squared away and either Worldview, or another party, will step up and we'll see some serious Amazon cannibal gut munching on the big screen.

Cabin Fever...hmmm...excuse while I go pop that in the PS3. In the meantime, check out the trailer for The Green Inferno below.
