Science Is Neat! - Rosetta Meet Comet, Comet Meet Rosetta
This is pretty cool. The ESA spacecraft Rosetta has pulled up to comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko (image at right). This is after ten years in space. Rosetta will map the surface of the comet. In November, Rosetta will close with the comet and deploy a lander, Philae. The lander will, among other things, test the material making up the comet for organic molecules, the building blocks of life. Check out the mission site at the link above. It really is an amazing time to be alive.
