Boob Tube - Devil's Advocate Coming To The Small Screen

The Devil's Advocate is an okay movie. The high-light is probably Al Pacino's portrayal of Satan. Okay, Charlize Theron is also easy on the eyes. However, it wasn't a great movie. Certainly, it doesn't warrant a TV show. However, since modern pop culture is fueled by strip-miner the pop culture of the recent past that looks like what we are getting.

You can read some of the details over at Deadline is you want. What can such a show offer? We already had a great example of a demonic law firm (Wolfram and Hart from Angel), so that's not original, even for television. Is this literally going to be week after week of our protagonist being tempted, but saying no as evil lawyers do evil lawyer things? How much fun is that going to be week after week?

As a one-off, finite story, it was fine; as a weekly series, I see this getting repetitive - and cancelled - really quickly.
