Boob Tube - Monsters! "The Waiting Game"

Monsters! is a TV series from the late-80s/early-90s. The gimmick, as you can gather from the title, was that each episode featured some kind of monster. The stories also often had some kind of twist at the end.

The Waiting Game is one of my favorite episodes. Air Force officers Captain Stanley Levitt (Stephen Burleigh) and Lieutenant Eric Tyler (Doug McKeon) are the launch crew at a nuclear missile silo. A massive nuclear war breaks out and the two men are trapped inside by lethal levels of radiation and a nuclear winter. They make contact with another launch center, staffed by Lieutenant Maureen Knox (Carrington Garland) and Captain. Andrew Garza (Leo Garcia). Garza flakes out and runs outside, screams and disappears. Knox hears sounds outside and eventually, Garza reappears. How can he still be alive in a radioactive hell? What could survive in a cold, sunless world? Watch the episode and find out!

It's a fun, inventive, tense entry in a great series. And the ending is creepy as heck. Check it out below.
