First Stab At Movie Posters

I've been fiddling around with Photoshop and started making my own movie posters. They're all cut, past and modify jobs right now, although I'm working on more original art. However, since this is my site, I'm going to share my work here. Enjoy.

Oh, all the background textures were taken from Lost & Taken, an amazing blog full of great images.

First, my take on 1953's War of the Worlds:

Next, a homage to some of the low-budget sci-fi related sex comedies of the '70s and 80s.

And, finally, the latest offering from The Asylum....haha, just kidding...maybe.

I Love Mondo

It is true, I love the artwork from Mondo. They are a studio in Austin that's been creating amazing variants of movie posters (among other things) for years. These are the sort of posters that would encourage me to see a movie, even if I had no idea what it was about. That is in stark contrast the the photo mash-ups that are the norm for the film industry. I've included a couple of images below the break. Check them out.
